What we collect

• Email address — if you sign up for the free sample pack or our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide through Kit (our email service provider).
• Contact form submissions — if you send us a message, we collect the name, email address, and message content you submit, which is stored in our site’s database so we can reply to you.
• Payment information — if you purchase directly through this site, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe handles that data under its own privacy and security practices.
• Basic technical data — like most websites, our host and site software log standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and performance purposes.

We do not collect payment information for books purchased through Amazon, or for digital products purchased through Gumroad or Etsy — those purchases happen entirely on those platforms, under their own privacy policies.

How we use it

• To send you the free sample pack and, if you opted in, our newsletter
• To respond to questions, wholesale inquiries, or feedback sent through the contact form
• To process and fulfill orders placed directly through this site
• To keep the site secure and working properly

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site and business: Kit (email delivery), Stripe (payment processing, if you buy directly from this site), and our web host. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data.

Your choices

• Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
• You can ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Children’s privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data retention & security

We keep contact-form messages and email-list data for as long as needed to run the business or as required by law, and delete it on request where we’re able to. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

We don’t use advertising or third-party ad-tracking cookies. The cookies this site does use are:

• Essential site cookies — set by WordPress and our caching plugin (LiteSpeed Cache) to keep the site working and loading quickly.
• Display preference — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
• Puzzle Room progress — when you play a daily puzzle, your in-progress answers are saved in a cookie in your own browser (one per puzzle type, cleared automatically at midnight) so you don’t lose your place. This data stays on your device and isn’t sent to us.
• Contact-form source tracking — a small first-party cookie records which page or referring link led to a contact-form submission, so we can understand which channels are working. It isn’t shared with outside advertisers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings at any time; doing so may affect features like the Puzzle Room’s progress-saving.

Using this site

By using hapraker.com, you agree to use it lawfully and not to interfere with its operation. No account is required to browse the site or play the daily puzzles.

Puzzle Room & leaderboards

The Puzzle Room’s leaderboard only asks for a set of initials — no account or personal information. Please keep initials and any input to the site appropriate; we may remove entries at our discretion.

Content & intellectual property

All puzzles, books, artwork, and written content on this site and in Hapraker Press publications are copyrighted and belong to Hapraker Press. Free samples and daily puzzles are for your personal enjoyment — please don’t republish, resell, or redistribute them without our written permission.

Purchases & third-party platforms

Hapraker Press books and puzzle packs are sold through Amazon (KDP), Gumroad, Etsy, and — in the future — directly through this site. Purchases made on Amazon, Gumroad, or Etsy are subject to that platform’s own terms of service, in addition to the return policy below.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

This site and its content are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hapraker Press is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.

Physical books (Amazon)

Hapraker Press books are printed and fulfilled through Amazon (KDP). All returns, replacements, and refunds for physical books are handled entirely by Amazon under its own return policy — we don’t process or receive returned books ourselves. Please contact Amazon customer service directly for any issue with a physical order.

Digital products (Gumroad, Etsy, or this site)

Puzzle packs, printables, and other digital downloads purchased through Gumroad, Etsy, or directly on hapraker.com are final sale. Because these are delivered instantly and can’t be “returned” once downloaded, we don’t offer refunds or exchanges for digital products except where required by law.

If a digital file you purchased is genuinely defective — for example, it’s corrupted, incomplete, or not the product you ordered — contact us and we’ll fix it or make it right.

Free sample pack

The free sample pack is provided at no cost in exchange for an email signup — since nothing is purchased, there’s nothing to refund.
